Villa Revolta, Lake Como, Italy
Brief: Restore and breathe life back into the interior of this stunning apartment set within this period Villa on Lake Como.Design: We carefully researched the period features of the apartment, sourcing the correct wood for the doors and finding the original colours for the fireplace and marble floor, using the local church as point of reference where the same original materials had been used. We then worked closely with local craftsman and carpenters to restore the original beauty of the space; we carefully restored the original frescoes, the terrazzo floor, wooden doors, fireplace and moldings. We added a modern white interior with a new kitchen, bathroom and furnishings – including a bespoke Last Supper Table in white, dark grey and gold leaf as a reference to the original inferior touches that would have been in place within the apartment when it was enjoyed by its first occupants.
